Saying hello to Jinnifer, Coupon, flutietootie, couponcodes and Marx, nice to see some new bloggers here and thank you for your comments.
I was working in the library last Friday (just a volunteer one day a week helping teach the bbc go-on course, currently offered online).
Usually I see two people and they do an hours lesson each.
This week a lady came in as booked , and was asked was she here to do computers (by another staff member), she said yes and looked at me expectantly.
So I smiled and joined her at the computer area for her lesson.
Imagine my surprise when she asked what is the purpose of you sitting in?
I explained how I volunteered to teach and asked was she booked in for a lesson, she smiled and said no she was ok with computers. Hastily I apologised and went back to the desk where it was found she had the wrong surname for the person who should have been there to receive the lesson, oops.
It seemed the lady who had booked was late so I did what I do when people don't turn up,which is tidy books on shelves.
After around ten minutes of this my first student appeared, worried because she was late.I told her not too worry and began to show her the basics of the keyboard and the computer mouse.
Thankfully she picked the basics up quickly so when my second person of the afternoon arrived for their lesson, she was happy to practise her keyboard and mouse skills while his lesson began.
A little bit hectic keeping an eye on two newbies at once (first one had overran into second person's time) but they were both happy at the end of their lessons acquiring computer skills.
If anyone want access to the course the bbc offer it free online at http://www.go-on.co.uk/.
Well worth having a look at if you are new to computing.

Library reading
Just read the intriguing book 'Courtiers The Secret History of The Georgian Court' by Lucy Worsley.
In the book are quotes and comments left by the letters and diaries of courtiers in the time of George the first and second of Great Britain.
It's racy,scheming and dramatic.
I picked it up as I wanted to know more about this period of time.
Knew nothing about the royal family of said period, feel like I knew them now.
Not a fast read, very wordy but this is needed to get all the stories in.
One can almost hear the courtiers as they plot their success at court.
Well worth a read if you like Georgian history.
Thoroughly recommended.

Halloween cake
4oz margarine
4oz sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 tablespoons marmalade
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/4 mug of water to mix
2 eggs
4oz mixed dried fruit.
I mixed the eggs and sugar together in one bowl and all the other
ingredients except water in another. Then I combined the two together ,
mixing them with the water. It went into a greased metal cake tin at 150
degrees centigrade for 2 and a 1/2hours . Then it was left to cool in the
tin on a wire rack. The texture turned out halfway between a sponge cake and
a fruit cake. This suited me as I am not a fan of heavy fruit cake like
Christmas cake.
Old post from the past, delish halloween cake so here it is again.
